A large-format glass panel measuring 12 × 2.9 meters and weighing 3,900 kg has been installed at the Hotel Argentina construction site in Dubrovnik. The design and installation represented a precise engineering feat, carried out in close collaboration with contractors and the manufacturer. The glass was placed between two concrete cantilever beams using two construction cranes, moved in tandem and fitted into a frame with a tolerance of just 6 mm. The glass wall will provide unobstructed views from the hotel’s entrance lobby towards Lokrum.
