3LHD the winner of the architectural competition for the Hotel Belvedere in Dubrovnik

30. June 2016

3LHD has won the architectural competition for the new Belvedere Hotel in Dubrovnik. The new resort will be a modern five star luxury property located opposite of the UNESCO World heritage old town of Dubrovnik, on a slope with a view of the Old City and the Adriatic Sea, one of the most attractive locations of the entire Adriatic coastline.
The architectural competition for the Belvedere project has been completed. Thirteen international architectural firms, out of twenty-three invited, took part in the private design competition conducted in two phases. Four architectural firms were chosen to participate in the second phase. The competition has been conducted by Fanzun AG of Switzerland on behalf of the property owner, the company controlled by Dr. Victor Vekselberg. The project proposed by 3LHD has proven to be the best solution and has been awarded as the winner of the competition.
"The proposed design of the new Belvedere is reminiscent of Dubrovnik renaissance summer properties that offered an escape, inspiring people with the sense of eternal beauty and harmony. The space is opening the outside views, while the rich past is reinterpreted through subtle details. It is a celebration of harmony between the natural and the man-made, gazing at the imperishable beauty of Dubrovnik." - The advisory board commented on the proposal. The new five star luxury resort hotel will consist of hotel suites, residences and villas, as well as a restaurant and a spa. The construction of the new Belvedere is scheduled to commence once all permits have been obtained. The hotel resort will also integrate the 360° restaurant located within the walls of Dubrovnik Old Town into its concept.
