3LHD was shortlisted for the WAN internet portal?s prestigious "House of the Year" award with a project of a family house in the northern part of Zagreb. The award was designed to encourage excellence in architectural profession; a jury that decides on it consists of world famous architects and experts (Richard Coleman, Julian Höner, Pierre d'Avoine, Yuli Toh, Christina Seilern). This year, the jury had the difficult task of selecting 25 projects as a wider selection between works submitted from around the world - from Australia to Poland, and then short listing only 6 from whom the winner will be announced on February 15th. The criteria were originality, innovation, formal and spatial qualities, sustainability, the context in which they are located and client testimonials. The shortlisted were The Long House - Keith Williams Architects - Great Britain; Home / Office - Mario Castelló arquitecto - Formentera Island, Spain; House J2 - 3LHD - Zagreb, Croatia; Salt Point House - Thomas Phifer + Partners - New York, USA; Acrylic House - Takeshi Hosaka Archictects, Japan; House J - Kevin Fellingham Architecture, Simonstown, South Africa.
