Lecture and round table at the 56th Zagreb Salon of Architecture and Urbanism

17. December 2021

Saša Begović and Marko Dabrović participated in the 56th Zagreb Salon of Architecture and Urbanism on Friday, December 17. The theme of the evening was "From a production line to a production system - the architecture of global production flows". Marko gave a lecture on the VOLUM3 collaboration platform. Along with Saša Begović, he participated in the round table together with Tomislav Knezović and Ivan Rupnik. In the last century, the production line has evolved into a global, complex logistics and infrastructure system within which the production and distribution of goods often take place simultaneously and autonomously. A century after the Arts and Crafts movement, in the era of planetary, algorithmically driven production, questions about the relationship between man and machine, aesthetics, ethics and the materiality of production processes are again relevant. Instead of fabricated buildings, the focus is on the architecture of production systems and processes. The architecture of modern production systems of the furniture industry and innovations in the field of modular architectural production and related logistics processes were presented within the session. The moderator was Ivan Rupnik.
