Karlovac Freshwater Aquarium - Aquatika has won an award for accessibility "Plavi cvijet pristupačnosti 2017" (Blue flower of accessibility 2017) for ensuring accessibility for persons with disabilities and other persons with reduced mobility, and for the application of universal design. Apart from the architectural criteria, other award criteria were communicational, economic and social accessibility. The award is presented as part of the European mobility week, and is awarded by the City of Karlovac in cooperation with the Karlovac County Association of persons with disabilities. The winner was elected by a jury comprised of representatives of Karlovac associations that gather people with all forms of disability.
